Every app. One calm desktop.
NoriOS is a new operating system that runs Linux programs and Windows programs side by side, natively. No virtual machines, no emulators: just your apps, on a fast desktop that stays out of your way.
Windows programs
Run an .exe like any other app. Notepad, WordPad, Task Manager and 7-Zip already work.
Linux programs
Thousands of Linux apps, one command away, running right next to everything else.
No restart to update
NoriOS can swap out its own core while your apps keep running.
Yours
Free to download. No online account, no ads.
Linux and Windows, side by side
A Windows program is just another window on NoriOS: the same title bar, the same dock, the same clipboard. Copy from a Windows app, paste into a Linux one. No second system running in the background, no setup.
Press one key, find anything
Tap the Super key and start typing. Apps and settings show up in one list, Windows and Linux programs together, with the clock, Wi-Fi and brightness right beside them.
Work the way you like
Every pool on the dock is a workspace with its own windows. Let them float, or press Super+T and they tile themselves. Snap a window to an edge by dragging it there.
Files that tell their story
Dive through your folders, peek at anything without opening it, and undo what you did. NoriOS remembers where every file came from: which app made it, and what it was downloaded from.
Make it yours
Dark or light, five accent colours, a living wallpaper of seaweed swaying under water. Animations are calm and quick, and off with one switch.
And there's more
Games
Steam runs on NoriOS, and so do Linux games like Factorio.
Fast where it counts
Starting programs and working with memory are up to five times quicker than on Linux in our measurements.
Sleep and wake
Close the lid and come back to everything as you left it, graphics card included.
Built from scratch
Its own system, its own desktop, made from the ground up in Nori, a language of its own.
Try NoriOS today
Download it, write it to a USB stick, and try it without installing anything.
