About NoriOS

NoriOS is a personal project: a new operating system, made by one person, with no company behind it and nothing to sell. It is free to download.

The idea is simple. You should be able to use the programs you need, whether they were made for Linux or for Windows, on one system that is fast, calm and yours, without a second system running in a window and without anyone watching what you do.

Everything is made from scratch, down to the language it is written in, Nori, so that every part can be built the way it should be rather than the way it always was.

Status

NoriOS is young. It runs real programs every day, and every release supports more hardware and more programs. See what's next.
